Ellen Hersh

Ellen Hersh was born in New York City, raised in Philadelphia, and currently lives in St. Petersburg, Florida, and Bradford, New Hampshire, with her husband, author Burton Hersh. She has taught French and German language and literature at the secondary and college levels. On the rosters of the Florida and New Hampshire arts councils, Ellen has bee poet-in residence at schools, libraries, continuing education programs, etc., since 1981. She holds degrees from Radcliffe/Harvard College and Yale University, and an MFA in Poetry from Vermont College. Her poems and translations have appeared in reviews and anthologies such as Under the Legislature of Stars and The Other Side of Sorrow. A poem is forthcoming the The Eckerd Review.
